Lakeview

Lakeview, my neighborhood. The neighborhood that raised me. The home of Montrose Harbor, the iconic Music Box Theater and of course home of our beloved 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. (Feels good to say that). Lakeview is one of Chicago’s 77 communities surrounded by other communities such as Lincoln Park, North Center, Lincoln Square and Uptown.
In 1857 Lakeview held its first township election in the town hall building located at Addison and Halsted. A building that remains there as a staple of the community. The history of this neighborhood fascinates me! During the civil war the intersection of Clark, Diversey, Broadway was a training facility for volunteers but shortly after converted into a prison for Confederate soldiers. The few residents from the immediate area often complained about rebel sing-alongs in the camp. How cool is that?! Lakeview is one of Chicago’s most historic and inviting neighborhoods! From its summer festivals to the touristic attraction, LV is definitely in my top 3 neighborhoods to hang out!
